Funded ProjectsFostering a love of nature for kids
Each summer, kids explore nature and soak in the outdoors at the Kansas Wildlife Federation’s Outdoor Adventure Camp. Chris loved spending time in nature and spent a lot of his time enjoying outdoor activities. That’s why the Foundation makes it a priority to help kids develop a passion for the outdoors, just like Chris had.

In the summer of 2018, four kids will attend this six-day summer camp with the help of a $1,300 CMF grant. Kids will explore the grounds with instructors at Camp WaShunGa, just south of Junction City. They’ll get a hands-on feel for how animals and plants live together in the ecosystem. The kids participate in activities like scavenger hunts, water sports like swimming, canoeing and fishing, plus shooting sports including rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader, archery and pellet gun.
Over the years, the Foundation has supported the Kansas Wildlife Federation with more than $5,000 in grants to give kids the opportunity to connect with nature and learn more about their environment.
